WHAT IS A DAY-OF COORDINATOR & DO YOU NEED ONE FOR YOUR WEDDING?

A Day-of Coordinator takes all the details you've already arranged and ensures everything goes smoothly and as planned on the big day.

Imagine this...
You've pinned and gathered all the creative ideas for your wedding ceremony and reception. You've decided on the style and colors. You've contracted the different vendors. Maybe you've bought or created cute DIY signs, decorations, favors, etc. You have hair and makeup scheduled for the day. The day before your wedding you have your rehearsal and rehearsal dinner – which is in itself a special event. The day of your wedding you wake up refreshed and excited with all the anticipation of the wedding with no stress about the details. You are able to completely enjoy the day from beginning to end knowing that the wedding coordinator is going to be there taking care of all the details to make sure that your special day goes exactly according to plan.

​WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FULL SERVICE PLANNER AND A DAY-OF WEDDING COORDINATOR?

A Full Service Planner will handle everything for the couple from start to finish. Starting with the overall design and vision of the wedding, the full service planner helps the couple create a budged and stay within it. This includes finding and recommending the right vendors, overseeing the contracts, etc.

​The Day-Of Coordinator will come into the picture a few weeks prior to the event and will help you coordinate all the details that you have already planned. They make sure that it everything goes according to your plans for the day.

Whether you contact us as a Full Service Planner or as a Day-Of Coordinator, in all cases we will be available and focused on getting everything organized and ready. As the big day approaches we will ensure that all the planned details are executed as you envisioned them, so you can relax and enjoy your special day.

​WEDDING COORDINATOR VERSUS VENUE COORDINATOR

The main difference is that a Venue Coordinator works for the venue and is there to protect its interests, not yours.  The Day-Of Coordinator is there to work for you, and to ensure that every vendor (including the venue) does what is expected of them, according to the contract. 

If the ceremony does not take place at the venue, the venue coordinator will not go to the ceremony site to coordinate your ceremony.  They are there to make sure that the venue does what it has offered in the contract. They will organize the ceremony if it's on site, and follow your timetable of dances, toasts and dinner, but they will not create one for you. They will not assist you in any activities outside their premises and outside the 5 hours the venue was contracted. The venue coordinator's duties end when the dinner is served and the cake is cut.  If a situation arises they will not be your advocate. They will be the venue's advocate.  A Venue Coordinator will receive your vendors and show them where to set up or deliver their goods, however they will not review your contracts with the vendors to make sure you are treated fairly, nor contact them prior to confirm the time of delivery.  If a vendor does not show up, the venue coordinator will not contact them to find out what happened or come up with a plan B if a vendor does not show up.

The Wedding Coordinator will stay until the last guest is gone. They will advocate for you and be completely attentive to your needs. They will ensure that all gifts and decor are packed for you to take.
